ACT Expo 2025 Key Takeaways

The Kempower team traveled to Anaheim, California for the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo at the end of April for a week of fleet-focused education with industry leaders, exploring the latest technologies, strategies, and policies. As the largest advanced commercial vehicle technology show, this year’s ACT Expo gathered more than 12,000 stakeholders, 2,700 fleet operators, and 500 partners from more than 54 countries.

From product demonstrations to expert interviews, Kempower was in on the action all week long. With the debut of the new state-of-the-art Kempower Control Unit , engaging time with customers and media friends, and gathering for a partner event, attendees received the full Kempower experience on the exhibitor floor. Newly announced Kempower President, North America Monil Malhotra also represented Kempower as a panel moderator, helping to guide the conversation around progress and innovation in the municipal transit Sector.

New technology is always a major attraction at ACT Expo. This year Kempower introduced the Kempower Control Unit, a compact, flexible, and advanced charging system intended for both depot and off-highway DC fast charging, providing attendees with an exclusive first look at the technology. With a maximum charging power of 240 kW and adaptive voltage, the Kempower Control Unit supports a wide range of vehicle types, allowing light-, medium-, and heavy-duty vehicles to utilize the same charging system. It can also be paired with Kempower satellites on the same centralized power unit to provide maximum flexibility for a wide variety of applications.

Electric vehicle media bring a special energy and passion for their work; it’s always a pleasure to reconnect at events like ACT Expo. While at the booth, Kyle Connor with Out of Spec Studios met with Jed Routh, vice president of markets and products at Kempower, to explore the world-class software systems on display. Connor emphasized, “the magic of Kempower is cable management,” during a product demonstration.

ACT Expo also creates time for our team to connect in person with Kempower partners like Lane Valente, EV Realty, and Electrada. On Tuesday evening, we convened more than 75 charge point operators (CPOs), fleet operators, and customers to celebrate key wins and milestones from the past year and share insights on the year ahead. We always look forward to collaborating with our partners at ACT Expo, exploring new pathways to accelerate the growth of EV infrastructure in North America and globally.

To wrap up a successful week on the west coast, Malhotra led a panel discussion on the municipal transit sector, exploring the progress government fleets and transit sector partners are making in alternative fuels and sustainable fleet transformations. The panel spotlighted experts who have navigated the energy transition in different sectors and delved into everything from cost-effective solutions to sustainability benchmarking and goals.

ACT Expo is an event the Kempower team looks forward to returning to year after year. Thank you to our customers, partners, and industry peers for an exciting week in Anaheim as we continue to work together toward a cleaner and more sustainable future.
