Mangmee EV opens the first charging station in Thailand with Kempower DC fast-charging technology
Rayong, Thailand – Kempower, a global leader in DC fast-charging solutions, is supporting Thailand’s transition to electric mobility with its latest project at the Mangmee EV station, together with Ebeecharge TH and APTEM. This marks Kempower’s first charging site in Thailand and reinforces the company’s commitment to expanding EV charging infrastructure in Southeast Asia to meet the region’s growing fast charging demands.
According to the National Electric Vehicle Policy Board (EV Board), Thailand is accelerating its transition toward electric mobility with the approval of the EV 3.5 package, reinforcing the country’s position as a key EV manufacturing hub in Southeast Asia. The initiative, part of Thailand’s broader 30@30 policy, aims for electric vehicles to make up at least 30% of total car production by 2030. To support this vision, the government has introduced new incentives, including support for electric cars, pickup trucks, and motorcycles, along with tax reductions for eligible EV models. These measures are designed to attract new industry players and strengthen Thailand’s EV ecosystem.
As the EV industry grows, investments in charging infrastructure are becoming increasingly critical. Fast-charging networks are expanding across highways, urban centres, and industrial zones to support both private EV owners and commercial fleets. Kempower’s entry into the Thai market aligns seamlessly with this strategy, bringing scalable and efficient DC fast charging solutions to power Thailand’s shift toward an electrified future.
A prime location for EV drivers
Strategically located on Highway 36, at the Bangchak service station in the Thap Ma district of Rayong—180 km southeast of Bangkok —the Mangmee EV station is an ideal stop for drivers commuting between Bangkok, the capital city and Rayong, a major industrial hub known for its petrochemical, automotive, and manufacturing industries. The station is conveniently surrounded by more than 50 retail shops, food stalls, and restaurants, providing a seamless and comfortable charging experience for travellers and commuters alike.
The station will feature Kempower’s high-performance charging technology, including a 300kW double cabinet Kempower Power Unit and three double output Kempower Satellites with a 300A output per outlet. The Kempower Satellite chargers are compatible with both passenger EVs and commercial fleets. With Kempower’s dynamic power distribution technology, all six DC charging points can be used concurrently. This allows for efficient use of power supply, while delivering a fast-charging experience to users.
The Mangmee EV station is designed with scalability in mind as it aims to support the growing number of electric vehicles on Thailand’s roads. Kempower’s modular and scalable design enables future power expansion with minimum investment.
“The Mangmee EV station in Rayong is set to benefit both long-distance travelers and local EV drivers alike. Its strategic location on Highway 36, coupled with its advanced charging capabilities and convenient amenities, ensures a seamless and efficient charging experience for everyone, supporting the growing EV community in Thailand,” says Ekkanat Kritsirithananan, Sales & Marketing Manager, at ebeecharge.
Official site opening
The Mangmee EV station was opened in the end of May 2025. Kempower and its partners remain committed to expanding sustainable charging infrastructure and ensuring that Thailand is well-equipped for the next era of electric mobility.
“The opening of the first public charging station in Thailand is another step forward in electrifying the region and supporting Thailand’s transition toward net zero. We are proud to have been selected as the fast-charging solution for one of the country’s most important highways, reinforcing our commitment to providing the best solutions for both the public and private sectors in achieving national decarbonization targets,.”, said Carlo Cecchi, Director, New Markets at Kempower.
